The Sony Centre
We were lucky enough to strike up a partnership with the folks at the Sony Centre, who let us set up the food truck underneath the performance centre’s awning on a regular basis over the summer. The awning provided some welcome shade for our customers, and for our cooks, who have enough heat to deal with from the grill! We had some really fun days, met new people, and even earned a few regular customers who happen to work nearby. The CN Tower in the backdrop was nice too. Check out some photos from our time outside the Sony Centre over on our Facebook page.
Junction Craft Brewing invited a bunch of food trucks to set up at their brewery over the summer, and we were there on a beautiful sunny afternoon. We’ve had lots of customers compliment our raw sugar cane lemonade, but here, everyone (of legal drinking age) had the chance to chow down on our food alongside a tasty beverage from Junction Craft Brewing, which was a nice change of pace.
Roy Thomson Hall
The Toronto Symphony Orchestra hosted a very unique evening last summer that combined the refinement of classical music with the revelry, and great food, of a tailgate party. Caplansky’s Deli and Steam Whistle Pilsner were there for the fun too. Photos of the TSO’s event are up on our Facebook page.
We spent a good bit of our summer at Mississauga’s Celebration Square, where we got to enjoy live screenings of the World Cup, watch the fireworks on Canada Day, and meet Pachi, the mascot for the 2015 Pan Am Games, which will take place at venues in both Toronto and Mississauga next summer.
Nathan Phillips Square
The City of Toronto hosted a great food truck-friendly event through the summer called Tasty Thursdays. Not only did we serve up our usual menu of grilled goodies, we got to participate in a Food Truck Showdown
, where our chefs had to flex their creative muscles and come up with a unique starter and main course using a mystery ingredient.
It was a fantastic summer in Toronto and Mississauga, and we were so happy to bring our food to some new customers, who we hope to see again next year!
